Why I Built This Site (and What I’m Working On Next)
May 31, 2025
Projects
Hi! I’m Becca — and this site is something I’ve wanted to make for a while.
I’m someone who builds things. Sometimes it’s software — tools that decode old data formats or modular apps that make technical workflows faster and easier. Other times, it’s physical — like blackout curtains for a boat, or a hand-sewn cloak for Michigan winters (because coats never seem to keep my legs warm enough).
This space is where all of that comes together.
🌱 What I’m Working On Right Now
Here’s a small peek behind the curtain (literally — I’m still sewing it):
- Curtains for the boat: blackout-lined, pleated, and custom-fit for small, curved spaces.
- A hand-sewn winter cloak: long enough to actually keep my legs warm and designed to feel like wrapping up in a wearable blanket.
- Hardwood floor refinishing: I just pulled up the trim and started prepping the walls for paint. It’s messy, rewarding, and somehow the perfect counterpart to writing code.
✨ What to Expect Here
I’ll be posting about:
- Projects I’ve built and how I made them
- Tips and tools I wish I’d had when starting something
- Cozy glimpses into DIY, sewing, smart home tech, and maybe even snacks
If you’re into things that are part circuit board, part craft, part chaos… you’ll feel right at home.
Thanks for being here 💛
